How to Cook Five Spice Chestnuts in Hot Water
Wash the chestnuts.
Make a cross cut in each chestnut (you can cut them in half directly)
Cut it all up and put it in the pan.
Add the peppercorns, star anise, cinnamon and 2 tbsp salt to the pan (1 tbsp of salt is fine)
Add some water and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes (depending on the size of the chestnuts).
