How to make pumpkin buns – home version
Peel and thinly slice the old pumpkin (thinly sliced is easy to steam)
Steam in a pot for about ten minutes.
Add some sugar (to taste) and mash the freshly steamed pumpkin with a spoon.
Add the flour (I used self-rising flour) to the mashed pumpkin several times and knead just until it doesn’t stick, cover with plastic wrap and wait to leaven.
Knead the dough for about half an hour until the air is out of the dough, roll it into long strips, cut it into sections and it’s ready to steam!
Dang, dang, dang, this is the finished product! It’s soft and sweet and delicious.
⚠️Steam for about 15 minutes, then turn off the heat and let sit for two minutes
⚠️Don’t lift the lid during the steaming process
