How to make steamed buns with bean paste
A little water with a little sugar poured into the yeast powder.
Add yeast water and milk powder to the flour, then slowly add water (use chopsticks to mix while adding water).
Add lard (both milk powder and lard can be left out) and knead to form a dough. Cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it ferment in a warm place
Re-knead the fermented dough twice as large.
Roll the dough into strips in several portions on a cutting board.
Roll out with a pastry stick into a long rectangular dough.
Put the homemade bean paste in a piping bag and cut a small opening.
Squeeze a strip of soya bean paste over one end of the dough.
Starting from the side with the bean paste, roll up the dough and form it into strips.
Cut to the same size.
Arrange on a steamer rack, taking care to leave a gap. Place in a steamer basket (pan) and ferment for half an hour.
Steam over medium-low heat for 8 minutes, leave the lid on for another 5 minutes
Soft and sweet.
