Steamed Crab (easy version) Directions
Two live crabs You can’t eat them unless they’re alive.
Wash it and tie it to steam if you have a string, if not, put it in the freezer to freeze fizzle before steaming. Make sure to turn it over and put it in so it doesn’t leak. Keep the sauce inside. Prepare a small bowl with ground ginger, sugar and soy sauce. (Don’t put the vinegar or the acid will evaporate.)
Start counting time in a pot of cold water and water boiling, about 15-20 minutes, depending on the size of the crab. Once steamed, add balsamic vinegar to the sauce (you can add a little salt to taste). It’s done.
This time of year, male crabs are no worse than female crabs! Super flavorful.
Lots of meat in the crab legs as well, dipped in the sauce, yum!
