When I grew up, I also made this dish at home, with the same recipe as Mamma. I always thought this dish was too plain and unpretentious, but it had a strong taste of home….

Steamed Spare Ribs with Black Bean Sauce
Chop the ginger, garlic and chili pepper and reserve.
Pat the tempeh flat with the body of a knife and set aside.
Wash the small mushrooms with water and soak them in boiling water. Allow the mushroom water to cool and add the pork ribs.
Add the black beans, soy sauce, sugar and wine, stir – and marinate for 20 minutes.
Add the garlic, ginger and chili rings and mix well.
Boil the water and steam the ribs in the pan for 15 minutes over water.
Remove from the pan and you can sprinkle some green onions-
